Students on Heritage Trail 2009

The History Panel of the school organised a trip to the Heritage Trail for students who had just sat for their PMR exam. A chartered bus took them downtown accompanied by Madam Ho and Felicia Ngu.
They visited the famed Pinang Peranakan Mansion among other interesting sites along the Heritage Trail. The Pinang Peranakan Mansion recreated the typical home of a rich Bab of more than a century ago.
This century old stately mansion of eclectic design and architecture incorporates Chinese carved-wood panels with English floor tiles and Scottish iron-works. Built at the end of the 19th century by one of the local history's famous persoanlities, the 'Hai Kee Chan' or Sea Rememberance Store had once served as the residence and office of Kapitan Cina Chung Keng Swee.
