Girl Guide 7km Walk About

The Girl Guide of the school organised a 7km walk about on 21 April 2009. The main aim was to create awareness among the guides as regard to the environment and flora and fauna around them.

During the walk some of the girl guides were surprised to find a goat's pen nearby a residential area. The girls were also required to collect specimens of flora and fauna they encountered along the way.

It was a new and enriching learning experience for the girl guides. They are looking forward to more walkabout in the near future.

Thursday, April 16, 2009

The just concluded Additonal Sport brought cheer to the Blue House as it amassed the most points to emerge as the leading house for the moment much to the delight and also the surprise of its teachers-in-charge.

Fun, Frolic and Learning

That was the headline screaming away on 16 March 2009 Star Metro.  More than 300 students in the scouting district of Bayan Lepas, Penang, gathered at SMK Hamid Khan recently for activities organised in conjunction with World Scout Day.

The students were separated into groups for some fun with Kim's Games (memory and observation games named after the hero of Rudyard Kipling's novel Kim)

The games involved the five senses of sight, sound, smell, taste and touch. See attached picture of our student Mah Kah Shen of 3 Cekal taking part in the game.

Garbage Enzyme?

Thursday, April 09, 2009

The members of the Health Club or "Kelab Kesihatan" are learning how to make garbage enzyme untuk the capable guidance of their teachers-advisor Madame Choo and Amy Loh. The uses of the garbage enzyme are multiple. It can be used both in the kitchen, house and also for cleaning purposes.

The garbage enzyme is not to be consumed but an edible version which is known as fruit enzyme is a rich source of food supplement. Hopefully the members will learn to make the fruit enzyme soon with the help of their resourceful teachers.

Lastly, health is wealth. So folks take good care of your health without compromising on the environment. Best of luck in your endeavors.
