KOLEJ T6 HAJI ZAINUL ABIDIN

The weather was just right for celebrating Teacher's Day 2012 school level despite the floor being wet. The environment was cool and also conducive. The celebration started at 7.45am sharep with speeches read out followed by the pledge taking and singing of the ever popular Guru Malaysia. Students put up some performances and the celebratrion ended with a telematch and a simple feast in the bilik masakan.

All in all it was a successful and fruitful day due to the co-operation of both the teachers and students. Thank you and Happy Teacher's Day 2012.

COME BACK ON 11 JUNE 2012

This morning two new teachers came to report for duty. One of the teachers specialises in Bahasa Malaysia while the other in Visual Arts. The school wishes to bid them a warm welcome , "SELAMAT DATANG" and hope that they would contribute their expertise to lift the school to greater heights.

This afternoon saw Mr Lee the sport secretary of the school giving a talk on how to manage sport heats in school. This is to prepare the teachers for the annual sport day to be on 20th June 2012 at USM stadium.

This morning saw Miss Cheah, who has served the school for 22 years bidding farewell to all the teachers and students in a special assembly arranged to honour her. Presents and praises poured in and the weather was very ideal for such an auspicious occasion.

FAREWELL

This morning saw two teachers-advisor promoting roses to the students in conjunction with Teacher's Day 2012. Students can purchase or place an order at the school's Co-op during recess time.

This morning saw a Form 2 student being presented with a netbook under the 1BestariNet programme by the school principal. The ceremony was held on Sunday at SK Jalan Sungai. All the recipients were asked to take good care of their netbooks and the netbooks would be checked and monitored from time to time by a teacher.

This morning saw 36 students accompanied by a senior assistant and a teacher were at the SK Jalan Sungai to collect their netbook under the 1BestariNet programme. Students from 10 other schools were also on hand to receive the netbook.

TO ALL THE STUDENTS

This morning marked the final day for the trainee teachers from USM doing their practical teaching in the school. As a token of appreciation, the school presented the four trainees a souvenir and they in return presented the school a plaque from USM. The counselling unit of the school also gave them a souvenir for their contribution to the school's Intervention Programme for helping weak students.

This afternoon saw Madam Josephine giving the teachers a talk on how to fill data on this inhouse training data website known in Bahasa Malaysia as SPLG or "Sistem Pengurusan Latihan Guru. Teachers were guided step by step on how to fill in the required and mandatory data.

GURU INOVATIF MELONJAKKAN TRANSFORMASI PENDIDIKAN NEGARA

Counsellor Cik Wan Nurulhidayah of the school will be getting married soon. It will be held in Terengganu, Malaysia. To Cik Wan Nurul, we wish you a happy marriage and thank you for the invitation.

The 2012 school Canteen Day will be carried out on this 30th June 2012, a Saturday, from 8.00 in the morning until 2.00pm. All teachers, staff, parents, students and the public are invited to come and support this event to collect fund for the building fun.

Today is the last day for two trainees doing their practical teaching in the school. Both are from UNIRAZAK. The school takes this opportunity to thank the two trainees for their effort and commitment during their stint here. Hopefully the training you got here will help you in your career in a new school where you will be posted to soon.

Yesterday saw another session of in-house training for teachers and staff of the school in the form of a talk by counsellor Cik Wan entitled Human Trafficking. It was an eye opener for many who attended the talk as it was very informative and beneficial. The materials was supplied by NCWO of Malaysia.

Miss Cheah who has been diligently sertving the school for the past 21 years gave a farewell lunch for all the teachers and staff of the school before her retirement on 23rd May 2012.

This morning saw teachers-advisor from the school co-operative store promoting gifts and souvenirs for the impending Mother's Day and also Teacher's Day 2012. All gifts and souvenir can be purchased at the co-op store during the school recess.

Yesterday the school was visited by the area co-ordinator for English oral or "ULBS." Students were selected and assessed based on their level of oral proficiency. The students waited patiently in the meeting room to be called upon and assessed.

Yesterday saw good weather prevailing and cadets from the various uniform groups of the school getting ready for the annual sport day. Some were seen marching in formation for the march past at USM on 20th June 2012.

Yesterday saw teachers giving an inhouse training on handling sport and various games like basketball, sepak takraw and netball. Despite the hot afternoon sun, the teachers diligently went from station to station to try out the various skills and techniques in handling the games. The event was facilitated by PE teachers.

This morning saw the visit by dental nurses from the North East District Health Department of Penang. The nurses gave all the students of the students of the school free and thorough dental examination.
