KOLEJ T6 HAJI ZAINUL ABIDIN

30TH SEPTEMBER 2012

This afternoon saw the school's co-op 'Koperasi Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Haji Zainul Abidin Pulau Pinang Berhad' having its 30th AGM with most of the members and shareholders attending. The AGM commenced with a speech from the school principal who is also the chairman of the co-op.

After the meeting members were treated to a scrumptious lunch and aslo given travelling allowance. Photos showing the event held at the school canteen.

This morning saw the school principal officially closing the month long Independence Day celebration in the school. Prizes were given to both the judges and participants of various contest viz best decorated class, poster drawing, poetry recital and quiz.

Recently scouts from the school took part in a camp at MBS, Penang. The camp proved to be a reunion place for both the senior scouts and junior scouts. During one of the presentation activities, the school scouts presented a dance number and was the champ.

The Starwalk 2012 last Monday seemed to be a good time for ex-student Leong Khai Sheong to propose to his girlfriend. He was a member of the school's St John Ambulance and today he is still a volunteer with St John Ambulance, Penang.

His proposition antic caught The Star and it was published in today's publication. Congratulations and all the best.

Last night saw the wedding reception of two former students of the school at a restaurant at Penang Times Square. They were both from the class of 2002 namely TJ Low and YC Chan. Teachers from the school were invited to the dinner. A number of former classmates of both the bride and groom also attended.

This morning a convoy of 5 cars met at RECSAM and left for the wedding reception at about 11am. It took about half an hour to reach Taman Selamat. After the prayers, everyone tucked in their favourite tomato rice and some other mouth-watering dishes.

This Saturday morning saw the school's Futsal team displaying their skills at the Penang Free School football field. They started playing at about 8.30am by winning 1-0 over Westlands Secondary and then went on to draw with Vocation School.

Today marks the final day of Miss Anusia's practical teaching stint in the school. Hopefully what you have learnt for the past 7 weeks will become useful to you in your career path to be a full fledge teacher.

Yesterday saw Encik Nabil Fitri who is from Padang Serai coming to the school to report as the new Islamic Studies teacher or commonly known as Ustaz. He will be serving the school until the year end school holidays.

The school wishes to bid a warm welcome and "SELAMAT DATANG" to him. May you do your very best in the school.

HAPPY MALAYSIA DAY 2012

Yesterday saw Ms. Sue from Ipoh coming all the way to share with the teachers some input on fire prevention and fire-fighting equipment. The talk was very informative and many teachers were taken aback by the severity of fire.

The English Language Society of the school had a treasure hunt in the school premises recently as the final activity for the year. Following up was a small farewell party for the members at the school canteen.

Recently the Hindu Society of the school organized a motivational talk for the students. Students who will be taking their PMR and SPM examinations were invited for the talk held at the multimedia room. A scrumptious lunch was specially arranged for the teachers and students who attended.

All in all it was a very motivational and inspiring talk for the students. Photos showing the event.

This morning saw a facilitator coming to the to give a motivational talk to the PMR students on Pendidikan Islam PMR . Students were given guidelines and tips on how to provide accurate answers during the exam. The talk was held at the multimedia room.

This morning saw the Director of ICT Intel, Mr Morgan taking time off from his busy schedule to share with the students important information and tips on how to excel in the PMR examination. He also gave the students a motivational talk to boost their confidence.

This morning a teacher from a neighbouring school gave the Form Three students of the school a talk on how to do well in the Living Skills or KH papers. Photos showing the event held in the multimedia room.

FROM EDUCATION PORTALS IN BLOGSPOT

This morning saw a group of undergraduates from Universiti Sains Malaysia came acalling to the school to promote the university's convo to be held from the 18th to the 23rd September 2012. They also gave the students quiz questions to answer. The event was held at the canteen during recess.

This morning saw the teachers and staff of the school gathering at the school's for the annual Hari Raya Makan-Makan event. It is an annual do and in return teachers celebrating other festivals also reciprocate by also have a similar feast.

The Resource Centre of the school organised a poster drawing competition in conjunction with the month long Merdeka Day celebration. During the offical assembly this morning winners were given their prizes by the school principal.

SMK Jelutong had a Cultural Night last night at the Evergreen Laurel Hotel in Pesiaran Gurney. The school was invited to attend and the all girls dance group Twinkle went accompanied by a few teachers. They had a great time performing and also enjoying the scrumptious course dinner.

This evening saw the Board of Prefects having their annual bash at the Royal Hotel in Larut Road. All the prefects attended together with the PTA Chairman, the school principal and fellow teachers. It was sort of a recognition night for the prefects especially the fifth formers who will be leaving the school soon.
