Farewell........Puan Siew Lai Chun
Tuesday, October 17, 2006
It was a dark and gloomy morning that we bade farewell to our beloved Puan Siew who retired from the teaching profession. However, the gloomy weather did not dampen our spirits and eventhough the staff and students were rather sad, they hoped that she will enjoy her retirement years.

Recently our school held a programme on the 29th August 2006 which was a fine weathered Tuesday. The VIPs' were ushered by our Head Prefect and the march-pass contingent of our school uniform unit. We got started with the speech delivered by our PKHEM and the VIPs' from the Ministry of Education. The proceeding event was a talk on drugs and violation of drugs. The spokesman told us the dangers of falling into the drug addict’s capture. A few words I recalled from the talk “It’s your future . Don’t surrender yourselves to the temptations of drugs. Think properly dear students” (translated from Bahasa Malaysia). After the talk, the personnel from the Jail Dept. came to demonstrate how some of the punishments are carried out to those who went fooling around with the law. There were demonstrations of the whipping punishment or known as ‘hukuman sebat’. The Jail Wardens showed it to us through a dummy as the law-offender. It horrified many students especially girls. As we can know it is a good reminder to us that is never to fool around with the law unless we are ready to face the serious consequences. Later we adjourned for our recess while some visit to the exhibition area in our school’s science lab.Overall I felt that the visit from this few departments managed to raise awareness towards the students in the school so as to not to break the rules or the law of the school and country.
