Yesterday saw a group of 10 Form Three male students from various ethnic groups went to SMK(A) Al-Mashoor (L) in Air Itam to participate in the RIMUP Telematch organised by the school. It was an invitation by the the concerned.

Students were given breakfast and lunch. The students were champions and first runner-up respectively in all the 10 telematch contest carried out.

The counseling unit of the school organised a talk for the post-PMR students regarding their future career. PMR students were given the talk at the multimedia room by the counsellors.

Yesterday saw Encik Muhd Syazwan coming to the school to report for duty. He is from Alor Setar, Kedah specialising in Mathematics. Welcome to the school and we hope you can contribute your knowledge and expertise to help bring the students to greater heights.

This morning saw about 40 students of various races from the school accompanied by 4 teachers took part in the Georgetown Heritage Trail walk. It was part of the RIMUP programme to be carried out for the year.

The students were given a briefing followed by breakfast at the canteen. They were divided into groups to do a  scrapbook on the trail. They completed the trail walk by 12 noon and the entourage reached school at about 1.15pm. Prizes for the best 3 scrapbooks were presented. The students had lunch at the canteen before going home.

All in all it was a fruitful event especially that they had just finished the PMR exam. Photos showing the event.

Last Saturday, saw the school sending a team of netball players to PKSW or Westland Sport Excellence Centre for the inaugural netball competition named The ministry of Education Cup 2012. The girls won 2 out of 5 games with a walkover.

THIS IS A CIRCULAR TO PARENTS REGARDING SCHOOL DAY ON 20TH OCTOBER 2012 (SATURDAY) USING FRIDAY TIME-TABLE. IT IS TO FULFIL THE 190 SCHOOLING DAYS FOR THE YEAR AS REQUIRED BY THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION.

This evening saw a group of teachers from the school attending the wedding dinner reception of a former student of the school Ms Agnes Cheong who left school more than 10 years ago. The wedding reception was held at a local restaurant downtown.

Many classmates of Agnes also came and it was sort of a reunion for the teachers and former students. Photos showing the event.

This morning saw the school principal presenting medals to the winners of the just concluded Interhouse Tournament held in reponse to the concept of 1 Student 1 Sport 1 Malaysia. For futsal , the champion house is Yellow House, while for netball the champ is Red House. Congrats to the winners.

This afternoon saw a gathering of Cooking Club members at the pantry despite the heavy afternoon showers. The students were treated a variety of cakes, beehoon and laksa. Some fortunate teachers who were around were also invited to grace the occasion. Photos showing the event.

This morning saw the school principal presenting prizes for the 3 cleanest classes and the worst class in term of cleanliness. Three classes were selected by a panel of judges for the cleanest category. They are Peralihan Aman, 5 bakti and 3 Aman respectively.

This afternoon saw the 4 Sport Houses  taking part in the inter-house futsal and netball in line with "1 Murid 1 Sukan 1 Malaysia" popularised by the Ministry of Education. Despite a slight drizzle earlier, the afternoon sun allowed the games to take place much to the delight of the students.

Last Saturday saw The Buddhist Society of the school in collaboration of the Counselling Unit of the School bringing about 40 PMR and SPM students to the Than Hsiang Temple at Bayan Lepas for a motivational talk cum blessing for the coming examinations.

At the end of the session the students were treated to a vegetarian lunch courtesy of the temple. After that they went to Mahindarama Temple at Kampar Road for another blessing. Photos showing the event at Than Hsiang Temple.

30TH SEPTEMBER 2012

This afternoon saw the school's co-op 'Koperasi Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Haji Zainul Abidin Pulau Pinang Berhad' having its 30th AGM with most of the members and shareholders attending. The AGM commenced with a speech from the school principal who is also the chairman of the co-op.

After the meeting members were treated to a scrumptious lunch and aslo given travelling allowance. Photos showing the event held at the school canteen.
