KOLEJ T6 HAJI ZAINUL ABIDIN

This morning saw a group of personnel from Intel coming to the school to conduct a programme called Supply Chain Outreach Programme, Paper Air Plane Game for a group of selected form 2 students. The programme was conducted by Encik Mohd Nizam of Intel and assisted by fellow Intellers. This programme is part of Intel's corporate social responsibilty project.

This morning saw a group of representatives from an event management company at the school promoting the "Oh My English" workshop to be held at Han Chiang College. The school was invited to take part but it will be on a first come first served basis. Only form 1 and 2 students will be involved. The date of the event is on the 24th of August.

This morning saw three officers from Intel coming to the school to conduct the Intel programme under the Intel corporate social responsiblity project. The event was held at the multimedia room.

This morning again saw the Form Three students congregating at the assembly area and were then briefed by Pn. Tay and Mr. Gunaselan on PT3 regarding the course work for Geography and History. Students were encouraged to finish their course in time and on time.

Yesterday saw an officer from Lembaga Peperiksaan Penang branch, Encik Mohd Nur Azri dropping the school to give the teachers a briefing on PT3 evaluation. Teachers were informed of the various instruments used for the school based evaluation. There was also a Q&A session after the session. Photos showing the event during the staff meeting.

Last week saw the History Panel of the school giving the form 3 students a briefing on the PT3 History paper. Students were informed of the task that they have to carry to fulfil the evaluation requirement.

Ex-student who was a St. John ambulance cadet of the school  did himself and the school proud by being the only recipient for the coveted St John Ambulance Malaysia's Best Cadet Award for doing a whooping 1,000 hours of community service over a period of 5 years.

To Khai Boon, congratulations and wishing you all the best. Hope you will be a shining beacon to all the St. John Ambulance cadets in the school. Well-done!

Student Ernest Teoh picture appeared on the 23rd June 2014 copy of The Star daily. In the feature article, he told The Star of his desire to be a scientist and called on the government to consider his request due to the nature  of him being visually challenged.

This afternoon saw 18 teams comprising members of various uniformed bodies sweating it out at the school canteen to whip up some delectable dishes to satisfy the palate of the panel of judge to win the competition. Out of the 18 teams , 3 managed to walk away with the prizes prepared for them.

It was a great event given the overwhelming response not only from the participants but also from their friends and ex-students.  The event was organised by the Girl Guides of SMK Hj Zainul Abidin. Participants were also given a ceritificate of participation.

This morning saw Ustaz Fadzli from Pondok Upeh coming to the school to conduct the programme dubbed "Di Ambang Bulan Ramadhan" organised by the Islamic Studies Panel of the school to usher in the month of Ramadhan.

This morning saw three form 5 students of the school attending the SPM motivational workshop at the PTPL college at Anson Road. The students were brought there by their History teacher after their parents had collected their exam results from the school. it was an interesting workshop and the students picked up a lot of tips on tackling the exam questions. This morning saw a steady stream of parents with their children strolling into the school canteen to meet the form teachers of their children and also collecting Mid-Year exam report. Many parents were also seen approaching the discipline teachers to get to know about their children's behaviour in school. Later, parents were also briefed on the school Sarana Programme by the PTA chairman and also some sharing of school information by the school principal.

This morning saw 5 Intellers coming to the school to conduct a basic computer programme for the selected students of the school at the meeting room. The name of the programme is "Easy Steps". This part is part of Intel's corporate social responsibilty programme for the year.

This morning saw the presenting of certificates to students who took part in the recent " Kem Penggalakan Sains dan Teknologi Peringkat Negeri  at SMK Seri Balik Pulau Pulau Pinang by the Senior Assistant of Co-cuuriculum. The school principal also presented certificates to cadets who took part in the " Perkhemahan Kadet Pertahanan Awam(KAPA) Peringkat Negeri Pulau Pinang 2014" at  Hutan Lipur, Teluk Bahang.

This morning saw the school having its annual Teacher's Day celebration at the assembly area and later moved to the canteen due to a light downpour. The theme this year is "Guru Pencetus Kreativiti dan Penjana Inovasi" or Teachers the ignition of creativity and generation of innovation.

This morning saw the school successfully carry out its 41st Sport Day at USM despite the heavy rain. The Green House emerged as the champion house this year while St John Ambulance was the champ for this year's march past. Congrats to all the winners and thank you to all the teachers and staff for making the Sport Day a success.

A big thank you to the chairman of school  PTA En. Nor Amin and also some committee members  for taking time off to join the school Sport Day.

Yesterday saw Puan Ho giving a talk on "Pendidikan Inklusif" or Inclusive Education as part of the inhouse training to all the teachers in the school. The talk was held at the meeting room.

Yesterday saw Mr. Lee the secretary for sport giving a hands-on inhouse  training to the teachers regarding the management of the  school annual sport day. The LDP was held at the meeting room. Teacxhers were in apt attention following the training with enthusiasm to prepare the teachers for the sport day to be held on the 20th of this month at USM, Penang.

Yesterday saw an inhouse training being carried out at the meeting room. The title of the inhouse training was " Taklimat dan Bengkel Penyelarasan Bersama Penyelaras Pementoran Bagi PBS 2014." Teachers were given information and hands on on the topic by Mr. Tan LY who had attended a workshop recently.

This morning saw 3 BSN officers from the Batu Lanchang branch coming to the school to open new account saving book for the scholarship recipients. The transaction was carried out in the meeting room. Students congregate at the meeting room to wait for their turn to open an account.

This morning saw the fire drill being carried out successfully with the teachers and students scurrying to the school and assembled there. The weather was quite cooling and the students had the first taste of the impromptu drill.

This morning saw the second rehearsal carried out successfully due to the strong co-operation given by the teachers and students. The weather was also conducive. The final for the tug-of-war was also carried out. In the girls' category the Green House was the champion while in the boys' category the Yellow House was the champion.
