This morning saw Encik Asmadi from the Penang Sport Council or MSN coming to the school to give a brief talk on Weight Lifting to Form 2 and Form 3 students. Some potential students were selected after a short trial.

This morning saw a temporary teacher reporting to school to start her duty to fill in for Pn Rosnah. Her name is Cik Siti Fatimah from Penang. Welcome and hopefully you will do a good job.

This morning saw the school principal presenting letter of appointment to all the librarian in the school. Thereafter the librarian took an oath of office in front of all the students and teachers.

This morning saw the school principal giving away bronze medals to the school under 15 footballers who got 3rd placing in the Kelawai Zone football meet recently. Congrats and the school is proud of your achievement.

This morning saw a dentist from a government clinic visiting the school and giving a talk to students about dental care and healthy gums. The talk was held at the multimedia room. Students of various classes took turns to attend the talk.

Yesterday morning saw Encik Haszrul reporting to the school to carry out his duty as a teacher replacing Encik Norrizan Wahit who went on a transfer to PPD Timur Laut.

This morning saw a lady teacher reporting for duty. She is Cikgu Noradliyah  from Penang Island. She is replacing Ustazah Nurul Haswani who is going on transfer.

This morning saw the school principal presenting the bronze medal to Chong Chee Hwa of 3 Bakti for second runner-up in the recent tournament in the single's category. Certificates of participation were also presented to those players who took part in the tournament.

This afternoon saw a convoy of teachers and ex-students attending Cikgu Norsuhaila or fondly known as Kak Su's wedding luncheon at Kuala Kurau about 1 hour 15 minutes drive from the school. It was an auspicious occasion and the trip was worthwhile given the challenging terrain. The school wishes to congratulate Cikgu Norsuhaila on her wedding and may she have a happy marriage. This morning saw a stream of 2012 students coming to the school to collect their examination result slip. Students made a beeline to the meeting room where teachers on duty gave out the slip. To all the students who did well, congrats. For those not so lucky, success is still yours if you continue to work hard in other areas of your lives.

Three teachers will be going on tranfer. They are Pn., Watriah, Pn Rosnah and En. Norrizan. The school wishes them the best of luck in their new school and may they continue to serve diligently.

Yesterday saw the meeting between the PTA of the school and the Road Safety Council of Penang to discuss matters pertaining the traffic and students' safety around the school and also outside the school gate. The has been an increased in the volume of traffic outside the school gate and also the indisciminate parking of cars in front of the school causing massive jam daily.

Yesterday saw 4 students attending The Star Tale Spin 2013 workshop at SMJK Heng Ee. The talk was organised by The Star Publication in collaboration with Taylor's College. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Lucille Dass. It was an enriching workshop and students would be doing the storyboard to earn pizza vouchers.

Yesterday saw 5 schools battling out for the coveted first placing in the annual Pesta Pantun ( Poetry Recital)  at the school. The champion team was from SM Al-Mashoor (L) while the first runner up was SMK Air Itam and second runner-up was SMK T Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra. Congrats to the winners.

This morning saw a panel of ten judges coming to the school to judge the participants of the Pesta Pantun. Later 4 schools in Kelompok M1 also turned up at the school to register themselves for the competition. The schools that came were SMK Air Itam, Tanjong Bungah, Tunku Abdul Rahman and Al-Mashoor (L).

This morning saw the presentation of plaque to the best three classes in term of cleanliness and neatness. Congratulations to 1 Bakti,  5 Cekal and 5 Aman for winning this month. As for 5 Bakti the class needs to put in more effort to keep the class tidy and clean.

Yesterday saw the school's netball team in action at the PKSW ( Pusat Kecemerlangan Sukan Westlands) field. Despite the fact that the players played diligently but it was not sufficient to overcome the opposing teams in term of speed, skill and agility.

Yesterday afternoon saw Mr Murukasan giving the teachers a briefing on the topic HOTS. Literally, HOTS is an acronym for Higher Order Thinking Skills. Teachers were told some questions in exam will be based on HOTS whereby students need to put n their thinking cap to answer.

This morning saw Mr Subramanium a lecturer from PTPL College giving a talk to the Form 4 and Form 5 students of the school on how to score A in the subject. The talk was held at the multimedia room and it was at the invitation of the Counselling Unit of the school.

Yesterday saw a hive of activities in the school premises as it was the day for the uniform bodies to meet and carry out their planned acitivities. Members of the various bodies went through their activities happily despite the scorching and merciless heat.

Yesterday's afternoon saw Mr Lee the ICP programmer of the school giving an inhouse training to the teachers regarding the use of the school's integrated computer programme and system. The training was carried out in the meeting room.

Yesterday saw Encik Ruslan who is a SIP Partner co-ordinator visiting the school to gather data and also to help the school to achieve better grades. All the Head of department and Senior Assistants were ushered into the meeting room for a meeting with Encik Ruslan.

This afternoon saw members of the English Language Society taking part in a cooking competition organized by their teachers-advisor. Members were divided into three groups and each group must come up with something delicious with chicken as the raw ingredient.

Yesterday saw two trainee teachers from UniRazak Central College reporting to the school to start thier practical teaching. They are Cik Raihan and Miss Sharleni. The school wishes to accord them a warm welcome and hopefully they will make good use of the opportunity given to them to sharpen their teaching and pedagogy skills.

Yesterday saw the school Co-curriculum Unit organising a leadership course for the benefits of the students who will be future leaders to lead in all activities in the field of extra-curricular activities. 

Students who attended were exposed to areas such as organising activities, marching, managing a meeting and also the ways of flying flags in school and public building. All in all it was a fruitful event held at the multimedia room.

This morning saw the Senior Assitant of the school En. Mohd Nasir giving away medals to the school sepak takraw team members competition in the under 18 and under 15 categories. Both teams managed to get a bronze medal each. This is quite an achievement as the team had put in a lot of effort. Members who took part in the doubles also won the bronze medal.

This morning saw the school having its 42th PTA AGM at the school canteen. Many parents turned up despite it being on a Saturday. The meeting was carried out fruitfully and the new committee members were sworn in without any objection.

This afternoon saw Mr Tan HL springing into action by giving the teachers of the school yet another round of inhouse training. This time it was the SAPS programme introduced by the Ministry to make marks scored by students in school exams available online for all to access. Mr Tan gave the teachers the nitty gritty of keying data online and also hands on training for those still new in the profession.

This morning saw the school principal presenting to the school pingpong team with medals that they won during the recent MSSPP pingpong meet at Penang Chinese Girls' High School. For the team event under 18, the team won 3rd placing. As for the under 15 team event, the school team won 2nd placing.

For the under 15 male individual event, the school got second position. Congrats to all the players and also the teachers-advisor for all the hardwork. May you continue to reap more success. Goodluck.

Kenzon Yeoh a student of the school was featured in The Star dated Saturday 16th February  regarding his Chinese New Year celebration with his family in Bukit Mertajam. There was also a short write out about his family and relatives.
