KOLEJ T6 HAJI ZAINUL ABIDIN

          Sekolah ini ditubuhkan pada 11hb Januari 1965 dengan penggabungan beberapa Sekolah Lanjutan seperti:-
                                       i) Sekolah Menengah Lanjutan Westlands
                                      ii) Sekolah Menengah Lanjutan Georgetown
                                     iii) Sekolah Menengah Lanjutan Tanjong
                                     iv) Sekolah Menengah Lanjutan Macalister
                                      v) Sekolah Menengah Lanjutan Jalan Kelawei
                                     vi) Sekolah Menengah Lanjutan Glugor

Sekolah Menengah Rendah yang baru ini dinamakan Sekolah Menengah Jalan Scotland. Pada Peringkat awal bangunan ini terdiri daripada Blok A yang mengandungi 12 bilik darjah dan sebuah kantin sahaja. Seramai 726 murid (489 lelaki dan 237 perempuan) telah melaporkan diri dan ditempatkan di dalam 20 bilik darjah; 10 di bahagian pagi dan 10 lagi di bahagian petang. Guru besar yang pertama ialah En. Lim San Hoe yang dipindahkan dari Sekolah Menengah Westland pada 1hb. Januari, 1965.

HAJI ZAINUL ABIDIN BIN SULTAN MYDIN telah dilahirkan di Pulau Pinang pada 3hb. Oktober 1898. Beliau mula-mula belajar di Sekolah Chowrasta kemudian di Penang Free School. Setelah lulus persekolahnya, Haji Zainul Abidin telah diberi peluang mengajar di Sekolah Penang Free juga selama beberapa tahun. Ilmu Alam ialah mata pelajaran yang sangat disukainya dan beliau telah menjadi pakar dalam pengajaran mata pelajaran Ilmu Alam. Di Penang Free School, Haji Zainul Abidin telah terkenal dengan nama " Master Abidin", "S.M.Z.A." dan "Zorro". Selain daripada menjadi guru darjah, Allahyarham mengajar Ilmu Hisab, bahasa iNggeris, Bahasa Malaysia dan Bahasa Latin. Ia juga pernah mengajar Ilmu Simpan Kira di Sekolah Perempuan St. George.

Yesterday afternoon saw Mr Tan HL giving teachers of the school an in-house training on how to key in marks into the headcount programme supplied by the education department.

Last weekend a group of Girl Guides from the school joined other Guides in a group visit to Charis House for the old in Penang. They took foodstuff and other edibles to the old folk home. They even entertained the old folks with songs and a dance number.

Yesterday morning saw muslim students of the school congregating at the prayer hall of the school to celebrate Maulidur Rasul. Ustaz Mohd Shukri was specially invited to grace the occasion and also gave a talk in conjunction with the celebration.

TO ALL CHINESE TEACHERS, STAFF AND STUDENTS,

At exactly 12.00 noon the school paid out RM100.00 to all the students and also those who had transferred to another school. Some parents also came to collect the money on behalf of their children. All payment were completed by 12.30pm.

This is the latest circular to parents regarding Saturday schooling in conjunction with Chinese New Year.

 Year holidays for 2013.

This is to inform parents that The Ministry of Education had fixed 9 March 2013 (Saturday) as a replacement school day.  Dismissal time is 1.10 pm and the students will follow Thursday time-table. A circular will be given to the students on this matter.

THIS IS A CIRCULAR TO PARENTS REGARDING THE ONE-OFF PAYMENT OF RM100.00 TO EVERY STUDENT.  STUDENTS OF THE SCHOOL WILL RECEIVE THEIR PAYMENT ON 23.1.2013 (WEDNESDAY) AT 12.00 NOON IN SCHOOL.

This morning saw students of the school making a beeline to the respective booth to register for their actitivities for the year 2013. The students were told to register for three activities viz a Club or Society, Uniform Body and Game. It was sort of a record as the whole process took only 35 minutes.

This morning saw the counsellor of the school briefing the form 3 students on the anti-tetanus injection. Students were told that this is a compulsory injection and all the form 3 students must take the jab. The students were also informed about the benefits of taking the injection.

This  morning saw the school principal presenting certificate of appointment to all the discipline teachers of the school for the year 2013 during the school assembly. Teachers were reminded to perform their duties professionally.

This morning saw the teacher-advisor of Boys' Brigade or BB in short promoting the activities and programme lined up for the year 2013. There was also a mini exhibiton regarding the gears and paraphernalia used by the BB to conduct their activities during  at the school canteen for the students to view during recess.

This morning saw the St John Ambulance Cadets with their second day of promotiuon at the reading corner of the school. Many items were on display such as a tent, first aids kits, trophies and also paraphernalia used by them. The teacher-advisor also encouraged the students to join.

Yesterday saw the Remove and Form 1 students attending the orientation programme conducted by the counselling unit of the school. The students were briefed on the culture and environment of the school. This is to avoid cultural shock among the new students.

This morning saw the head teacher of discipline giving a briefing to all the new students of the school matters pertaining to the school Merit-Demerit System and school regulations. Students were advised to put on their best behaviour in the school so as the process of learning and teaching can be carried out smoothly for the benefits of the students.

This morning saw the school assembled in front of a new open air stage specially built for the new year. Students were also arranged in a new formation facing the stage. As usual the official school started with the singing of the national and state anthem followed by the school song. Then it was the recitation of the Rukunegara.

Speeches were made by respective teachers and admin. Then assembly ended with another patriotic song "Bahasa Jiwa Bangsa."

This morning saw the Senior Assistant of Students' Affair briefing new Remove and Form 1 students on the school rules and regulations. He also touched on the school merit and demerit system. He also advised the students to be punctual to school and also to follow the school regulations at all times.

This morning saw parents taking their children to school to attend a briefing and orientation programme at the school canteen. The school admin took turn to brief the parents and students. Later the students were taken by their respective teachers on a familiarization tour of the school.

Parents also took the opportunity to purchase exercise books and stationeries at thew school's co-op. Teachers were also on hand to get to know the parents.

This afternoon saw the marriage of staff Encik Wan Zahari's eldest daughter. The wedding luncheon was held at RECSAM cafe located in Jalan Gelugor. The school principal, senior assistants, teachers and other staff also attended the event.

The four teachers on transfer gave a delicious Italian treat to all the teachers and staff of the school. Teachers were treated to mouth-watering pizza, pasta and other delectable food.

Madam Chew W Shyan got married this morning and the dinner reception was held at the Hydro Hotel, Penang.  Many teachers and staff attended the dinner which lasted till late in the evening. The food was great and the entartainment was superb.

The bride looked fabulous in pink and the groom looked marvellous as well. We wish the bride and groom a happy and joyous marriage. photos showing the event.

This is a notice to parents regarding the dates for the sales of exercise books at school's co-op for 2013.

This evening saw teachers and staff having a great time makan-makan at the banquet hall of Royal Hotel. there was a huge array of food served buffet style and the teachers and staff had a delightful time tucking in.
It was a great time to foster good fellowship among the teachers and staff amidst wonderful ambience and delectable food.

Yesterday saw about 40 post-PMR students together with 4 teachers went to the Bird Park and Mengkuang Dam as part of the post-PMR programme organised by the Counselling Unit of the school. The students had a great time especially after studying hard for their PMR.
