KOLEJ T6 HAJI ZAINUL ABIDIN

This morning saw upper secondary students comprising Form 3, 4 and 5 classes going to the field to collect points for their respective sport houses. The students need to complete the event lined up for them in four stations viz high jump, long jump, short putt and 100 metres run.

This is a yearly event prior to the annual sports day to be held at the stadium in USM, Penang.

This morning saw lower secondary students of the school gathered on the field for the annual standard sport to gather points for their respective sport houses. Almost all the students were seen in their sport attire and the weather was just perfect for this activity.

This is a circular to parents and guardians pertaining to the collection for PTA fund dated 16 April 2012 given out to all students last week.

This morning saw Muhammad Saad receiving his medal from the school principal. He took part in a relay event at the Polo Ground in Penang and got fourth placing in a distance of 2.4km. There were many good runners but the little dynamite convincingly chalked up 4th placing to the delight of his parents who would be there in every run that he took part in.

This morning saw the school principal presenting medals to our own golden boy who took part in the recent MSSM in Kelantan. He made a haul of 3 golden medals and a medal each in silver and bronze. The events he took part were parellel bar, ring individual,and others.The school wishes to congratulate Jeremiah Loo for his achievement. May you continue to do well in future.

This afternoon saw a good turn out of Fire Brigade cadets, Civil Defence cadets, Scouts and St John Ambulance members. Despite the drizzle they put on their best feet forward and march unabashedly in the corridors of the school.

To the teacher-advisors suppervising the students a big thank you and it clearly portrayed a sense of high professionalism. Bravo and keep up the good work.

This afternoon saw the 3rd session of inhouse training for English Language teachers of the school on PBS or school-based assessment being cvarried out in the meeting room. It was fruitful session as teachers also took turns to present what they had learnt.

Four members of WCC (Women's Crisis Centre)of Penang visited the school this morning on the invitation of the Counselling Unit to give a talk to Form 2,3 and 4 girl students on topics pertaining to health, safety and personal hygiene. Later they also gave a talk to Form 4 boy students on motivation and how to study effectively.

Yesterday saw the English Panel having its second inhouse training regarding PBS which is a school based assessment programme. Members of the English Panel were invited to sit in and there were various useful information disseminated. The training was carried at the meeting room.

This afternoon saw Mr Lee the sport secretary of the school giving an inhouse training on how to organize and run a Standard Sport in the school involving all the students in a spread of two days. teachers were all ears during the session.

Ustaz Ahmad Faiz bin Ahmad Shahbudin from Yayasan Pembangunan Ekonomi Islam Malaysia (YaPEIM) visited the school and gave the teachers especially muslim teachers a short 15 minutes briefing about YaPEIM and how they could contribute to it.

Yesterday saw the English Panel having a meeting, followed by an inhouse training on PBS English. It also saw the current chairperson making her final speech before her retirement in May and the panel took the opportunity to introduce the new chairperson with immediate effect.

To Miss Cheah who had diligently led the panel to great heights, a big thank you to you. May you continue to enjoy good health and prosperity. To the new chairperson Miss Arutchelvi, welcome aboard.

This morning saw Mr Lim an engineer from Intel Corporation together with a colleague giving Form 3 and Form 5 students a motivational talk at the Multimedia Room. After the talk the students asked many questions pertaining to career advancement.

This morning saw the school's 11th Cross-country run carried out successfully and smoothly. Students ran in an orderly manner and there was no untowards incident and the weather was very conducive. Everyone chipped in to help manage the run. The run ended with a performance by the inhouse hip hop group "The Unknown." The finale was the lucky draw where the grand prize was a bicycle.

Thank you to all the teachers , staff, police and Jaya Catering, Intel Corporation with Mr. Lim as representative and also St. John ambulance of Penang for supporting and making this event a success.
