TAKLIMAT TEKNIK MENJAWAB B.INGGERIS SPM 2013

This afternoon saw a facilitator from a nearby school giving 2013 SPM students of the school a motivational talk on how to tackle the SPM 1119/1and 1119/2 English Language papers. Students were also taught ways to get marks for directed and continuous writing. All in all it was a great talk and hopefully the form 5 students present will benefit in one way or another.

This afternoon saw the school principal Mr. Seah, giving a pep talk to all the 2013 PMR students at the school canteen. Students were also reminded to prepare themselves thoroughly for the exam by sleeping early and getting all the necessary documents in order before sitting for the exam.

This afternoon saw the visit by YaPEIM officer En. Ahmad Faiz.He took 10 minutes to explain muslim teachers regrading their contribution to YaPEIM. Later he passed forms for teachers to fill to pledge or to increase the amount they wish to contribute on a voluntary  basis.

Petang ini melihatkan Panitia Pendidikan Islam melaksanan Program Solat Hajat 2013 bagi pelajar Islam Tingkatan 3 yang akan menghadapi peperiksaan PMR 2013 minggu hadapan.

TEKNIK MENJAWAB SOALAN PERDAGANGAN SPM 2013

This morning saw 5 Bakti and 5 Cekal students attending a motivational talk by a facilitator from a neighbouring school on the technique of answering the "Perdagangan' or Commerce papers. Tips were also given to those present on how to get more marks from each section of the papers.

Mid-morning saw a second group of chosen teachers doing the survey given by the two visiting officers from the Northeast District Education Department of Penang. A set of survey forms were given and teachers need to answer them at the meeting room.

KAJIAN LAPANGAN STRATEGI LAUTAN BIRU KEBANGSAAN (nbos)

This morning saw 2 officers from the Northeast Education Department of Penang coming to the school to conduct a survey via answering questions on handouts.This is a project called Project NBOS-PPG, Ministry of Education under the supervision of the Prime Minister.

ANUGERAH CEMERLANG KEHADIRAN TINGKATAN 5

This morning saw form 5 students being bestowed with a certificate of appreciation for the best attendance from January 2013 to August 2013. Only a handful of the students qualified. Photos showing the senior assistant presenting the certs to the students during the assembly.

PROGRAM RESTU PERSATUAN KRISTIAN 2013

Yesterday saw the Christian Society having a blessing programme for those Christian  students taking the 2013 PMR and SPM examinations. Prior to the blessing programme, students and teachers were feted on a simple meal of Malaysia all time favourite nasi lemak at the school's pantry.

This morning saw teachers and support staff from five school congregating at the Penag Free School hall to attend the Integrity Seminar organised by the Northeast District Education Department. It was a half day seminar and the turn out was encouraging as the seminar was made compulsory.

Yesterday saw a facilitator from a nearby school coming to the school to share with the 2013 PMR students on the nitty gritty of tackling the PMR Math papers. Students were also provided invaluable tips for the subject. All Form 3 students attended the talk held at the multimedia room.

MAJLIS ANUGERAH DAN PERPISAHAN BOYS' BRIGADE 2013

This afternoon saw members of the Boys' Brigade of the school having a whale of a time going through a series of activities mostly games and also feted at the end of the programme with a scrumptious steam boat hi-tea. It was prepared by a member's mother. 

The Boys' Brigade is one of the most active uniform bodies in the school and the school wishes to encourage BB to produce more capable leaders to lead it to greater heights.

KUIZ MINGGU ANTIDADAH 2013

This morning marked the end of the "kempen minggu anti-dadah 2013" with a quiz conducted by the school's councellor. Many students tried their best to answer the questions. Each correct answer was awarded with a prize.

STARWALK 2013

This morning saw 20,000 people taking to the streets to walk with The Star annual Starwalk 2013. The slight drizzle did not dampen the spirit of those who came well-prepared with umbrellas, poncos and rain coats. Students of the school and some teachers of the school also took part.

It was a Sunday morning well spent. Hopefully more students will join next year. Photos showing some snapshots of the event.

KEM SUKAN SEKOLAH 2013

This morning saw selected students from the four sport houses congregating at the school canteen and after having registered themselves for the camp, they had their breakfast. After that, a short speech by the Senior Asst. For Co-curriculum officiated the camp. 

The first slot was conducted by Mr Guna regarding track and field events followed by mr. Mohd Akhdan who was doing the football section. Then lunch was served and following that was the third slot for Food and Nutrition conducted by Puan Murni. Then it was the final slot conducted by En. Abdullah on sepak takraw. 

Finally it was time for quiz. Students were asked 10 questions. For each correct answer, a prize was given. After that a closing speech was made by the senior Asst. and the camp came to a close.

Yesterday saw Mr Lee giving the students more information on the various types of drugs and also those that can be harmful if inhaled, taken or injected into the body. It was very informative and the students were in apt attention.

A R U V A 2013

Former student of the school who goes by the name Suriyan Magissan is promoting his own movie  premiering on 12th October at TGV at 1st Avenue at 8.30pm. Those who are Tamil movies buff can make a beeline to the cineplex. He not only directs the movies but also is the main lead actor.

MAJLIS PERPISAHAN PASUKAN PENGAKAP 2013

This afternoon saw the scouts having a small gathering at the school canteen to celebrate the ending of their week meet and also as a farewell for those leaving the school at the end of the year. The teachers advisor each cooked a home-cooked spaghetti and roast chicken for the students to savour. Some teachers were also invited to partake the simple meal. It was a simple lunch yet a very meaningful one.

This afternoon saw officers from the NGO viz BEFRIENDERS coming to the school and gave the teachers a talk cum workshop on matters related to suicide and prevention of suicide among teens. Teachers were also scanned for stress.

This morning saw a facilitator from a neighbouring school dropping by the school at noon to give students taking the Chinese Language PMR papers a motivational talk and getting them ready for the impending exam. The talk was held at the multimedia room and organised by the Chinese Language Panel of the school.

This morning saw the counsellor sharing information with the students on the danger of smoking. Students were made known the ill-effect of smoking and also the harmful elements found in cigarettes.

This morning saw the school's counsellor giving a 5 minute talk in conjnction with the anti-dadah week 2013. The title of the talk was "Mengapa remaja menagih dadah" or "Why do youth turn to drugs ?" It was a very apt topic as students could relate to this topic.

TAKLIMAT PERTAMA 5 MINIT ANTI-DADAH 2013

This morning saw the counsellor, Puan Wan Nurulhidayah of the school giving the students a pep talk on drugs and drugs abuse during the morning assembly. It was carried out in conjunction with the Anti-Drugs Week 2013. The students need to listen attentively for a week before quiz questions will be asked orally and those students with the correct answers will be awarded prizes.

MAJLIS PERPISAHAN KELAB & PERSATUAN 2013

Yesterday saw four clubs joining forces to have a simple yet meaningful farewell party for their members. The four clubs are Kelab Pencegahan Jenayah, Kelab Pengguna, Kelab Memasak and Kelab Keselamatan Jalanraya. The event was held at the school canteen in the afternoon.

SANG HELANG KE SEKOLAH 2013

This morning saw a group of USM under graduates coming to the school to do a promotion on their upcoming convocation aptly named Convocation Exposition to be held from 22 Spetember - 28th September at the USM campus. They also brought along their mascot in the form of an eagle. Students were given flyers and were also asked to like them on FB.

MINGGU ANTI-DADAH 2013

This morning saw the Senior Asst. for Students' Affair launching the week long anti-dadah campaign. For a week there will be a brief talk on drugs and drugs abuse every morning at the aseembly area. Students will also be asked questions in the form of a quiz. Prizes will also be given.

STUDENT IN THE NEWS 2013

This morning 5 Aman student Goh Kai Boon was featured in the Metro section of The Star newspaper. It was for a good reason too, being the recipient of St John Ambulance Malaysia's (SJAM) Cadet Special Service Shield for having clocked in an impressive 811 hours of community work.
