TAKLIMAT DAN PESANAN PRA-SPM 2012

This afternoon saw the school principal Mr. Seah giving the students a pep talk before the SPM examinations. Students were also reminded to arrive early at the exam hall during the exam period. Other teachers on hand also gave the students "the do's and don't" before, during and after the exam.

PROMOSI OLEH THE STAR

During the school recess the marketing executives of The Star publication visited the school and did a promotion. Students who bought the newspaper were given freebies. Many students bought the papers and were give free raincoat, KFC vouchers and old issues of Galaxie.

KURSUS KEPIMPINAN KO-KURIKULUM 2012

This afternoon saw the Co-curriculum Leadership Course being attended by selected students from Remove to Form 4. This course is to prepare the students to take over the helm in 2013 as chairman, president and so on. Teachers-advisor from various clubs and societies took turn to facilitate.

GIRL GUIDES IN THE NEWS 2012

SEDETIK BERSAMA SEABAD TERASA BERSAMA PASUKAN BOMBA

Yesterday afternoon saw the Fire Brigade Cadets of the school having  a farewell cum appreciation lunch for  members who had served well and soon be leaving the school after their SPM. The theme was "Sedetik Bersama Seabad Terasa" meaning "A Moment of Togetherness A Century Felt"

PERPUSTAKAAN BERGERAK 2012

This morning saw the mobile library from Seberang Perai visiting the school on the invitation of the school library. The purpose was to improve and inculcate the reading habit among the students of the school and at the same time promoting their activities.

LION DANCE COMPETITION 2012

This morning saw the school principal presenting medals, certificate and a mock cheque to Cheah Chin Eng of 5 Ehsan who was the champ in the Traditional Lion Dance Competition 2012 held in Malacca recently.

GIRL GUIDES GO GREEN 2012

This morning saw Penang Girl Guides doing a flashmob to promote the go green campaign. The school's teacher-advisor and some guides also joined in this go green effort at the Chowrasta market and the vicinity of the market namely Campbell Street and Penang Road.

10 MINIT MEMBACA SURATKHABAR 2012

This morning saw the R eading Camp 2012 moving into the next phase which is the  reading of newpapers by the students. Students were given newspapers of various languages to read for 10 minutes and then they were asked to report what they had read.

This morning saw the SPCA or Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals visiting the school to give a talk on the invitation of the counselling unit of the school. Mostly Form Three students were invited to the multimedia room for the talk after recess.

This morning saw the Senior Assistant for  Students' Affair presenting money to parents who came at the meeting room under the scheme KWAMP or "Kumpulan Wang Amanah Miskin Pelajar." This is a form of aid to poor students.

MEMBACA 10 MINIT 2012

This morning saw Form 3 and Form 4 students reading at the assembly area with the guidance of Puan Tan. Students were given a book to read for about 10 minutes and then they were asked comprehension questions. This event is in line with the Ministry programme to inculcate reading habits among the young especially school going students.

MAJLIS PENGHARGAAN KOPERASI SMK HAJI ZAINUL ABIDIN BERHAD SESI 2011/2012

Yesterday afternoon saw the members of the school's co-operative being appreciated with the presentation of certificates of appreciation and were later feted to the fingers licking good  KFC. The appreciation ceremony was held at the meeting room.

MURAL DRAWING 2012

Since last week a few Form Three students took time to help out in the drawing of murals on the school wall. They were under the guidance of Pn. Lam and the mural drawing is a good way not only to beautify the school walls but also as a beneficial way to spend their free time in one of the school's post-PMR programmes.

TEMPORARY TEACHER 2012

A temporary teacher reported to the school last week. He is to take over the duty of Ustazah Nurul Hazwani who went on materinity leave.

The temporary teacher is Encik Shahril from Kuala Kurau. He will be in the school to assist for a time frame of 3 weeks. To Enik Shahril, welcome to the school and hopefully you will help out the area given to you.

PELANCARAN PROGRAM KEM MEMBACA 1 MALAYSIA 2012

This morning saw the school principal launching the "Kem Membaca 1 Malaysia 2012" atau 1 Malaysia Reading Camp 2012. After the launch, the teachers and students sang the theme song followed by a quiz based on the song. The programme was to inculcate the life long reading habits among the students.

PROM NIGHT 2012

Last night saw the fourth prom night for the school organised by the students with the guidance of the teachers. It was held at E&O Hotel and a huge crowd turned up comprising present, and past students with some coming all the way from Kuala Lumpur.

It was a night of fun with performances and lucky draws.  Everyone went home feeling happy and the memory of this great prom night will linger in the mind of the students for many more years to come.

RIMUP SUKANEKA 2012

Yesterday saw a group of 10 Form Three male students from various ethnic groups went to SMK(A) Al-Mashoor (L) in Air Itam to participate in the RIMUP Telematch organised by the school. It was an invitation by the the concerned.

Students were given breakfast and lunch. The students were champions and first runner-up respectively in all the 10 telematch contest carried out.

RIMUP 2012 - JEJAK WARISAN

This morning saw about 40 students of various races from the school accompanied by 4 teachers took part in the Georgetown Heritage Trail walk. It was part of the RIMUP programme to be carried out for the year.

The students were given a briefing followed by breakfast at the canteen. They were divided into groups to do a  scrapbook on the trail. They completed the trail walk by 12 noon and the entourage reached school at about 1.15pm. Prizes for the best 3 scrapbooks were presented. The students had lunch at the canteen before going home.

All in all it was a fruitful event especially that they had just finished the PMR exam. Photos showing the event.

BOLA JARING PIALA MENTERI PELAJARAN 2012

Last Saturday, saw the school sending a team of netball players to PKSW or Westland Sport Excellence Centre for the inaugural netball competition named The ministry of Education Cup 2012. The girls won 2 out of 5 games with a walkover.

FORMER STUDENT'S WEDDING 2012

This evening saw a group of teachers from the school attending the wedding dinner reception of a former student of the school Ms Agnes Cheong who left school more than 10 years ago. The wedding reception was held at a local restaurant downtown.

Many classmates of Agnes also came and it was sort of a reunion for the teachers and former students. Photos showing the event.

PERTANDINGAN KEBERSIHAN KELAS BULAN SEPTEMBER 2012

This morning saw the school principal presenting prizes for the 3 cleanest classes and the worst class in term of cleanliness. Three classes were selected by a panel of judges for the cleanest category. They are Peralihan Aman, 5 bakti and 3 Aman respectively.
