HARI KANTIN 2012

This morning was the school's second Canteen Day. It was an honour for the school as the DUN co-ordinator for Jelutong Ng Fook On and Sungai Pinang Dr Thor also came to grace the occasion. To both the co-ordinators thank you so much for your support to a small school like us.

Many ex-students also came to meet their former teachers and exchanged pleasantries. It was a very fruitful day for the school as most of the stalls did a roaring business. Thank you to all who have helped to make this year's Canteen Day a success.

GOODLUCK UNKNOWNZ

The school hiphop group Unknownz got to go and compete in Kuala Lumpur this Sunday afterall. The second winning team pulled out on the 13th hour and Unknownz got a call to go as a replacement to represent the northern region. This time sure lady luck gave them a smile.

They will go down to KL after Canteen Day. The venue for the competition is 1Utama Shopping Centre starting 9.00am. Let's wish them the very best. May the force be with you guys. Good luck.

PREPARING FOR CANTEEN DAY 2012

This afternoon saw many students working hand in hand to put up their stall. Some were busy with decoration while others were busy with tying,cutting and sawing. Balloons were also put at various vantage point.

CANTEEN DAY PROMOTION 2012

This morning saw a teacher promoting the Canteen Day at a neighbouring school. Pupils were motivated to support and attend and many pupils bought the coupon with more promising to turn up tomorrow.

GIRL GUIDES KEROPOK 2012

Yesterday afternoon saw girl guides of the school prepared keropok for sale during Canteen Day after their cooking competition. They were quite creative and enterprising. Under the guidance of their beloved teacher-advisor Puan Chew they fried and wrapped the keropok till the late afternoon.

TALK ON INSURANCE CLAIM 2012

This afternoon saw 4 insurance agents from Great Eastern dropping by the school to give 30 minutes of informational talk on making claims after buying insurance. After the talk there was a short quiz. It was held in the meeting room.

This morning saw Puan Rosnah doing a promotion on PIDM a.k.a "Perbadanan Insuran Deposit Malaysia. Students were given forms to fill to enable them to participate in many online quiz and contests.

WATER ROCKET COMPETITION 2012

This morning saw teacher Liesha taking three students to Bertam Perdana in Kepala Batas for the water rocket competition.

At the moment of typing this blog the students have to prepare a water rocket in 3 hours plus 2 target and 2 parachute. Hopefully they will not only win but gain invaluable experience.

TALK BY BEFRIENDERS 2012

This morning saw the Befrienders giving the students a talk regarding teenage issues such as boy-girl relationship and other problems faced by teenagers.

This talk was a result of a collaboration between INTEL and the school counselling unit. All in all it was a very beneficial talk for the students of the school. A big thank you to INTEL and Befrienders.

This afternoon saw the DIGILIVE My School Got Talent Competition judges not on our side. Despite the tremendous effort and splendid performance put up by our hip-hop group "Unknownz" lady luck was not with us. Hence the result but you guys should be able to hold your heads high because you guys are always our champ, the school's champ.

PSC-KDU ROBOTICS CHALLENGE 2012

This morning saw the school sending two teams of students for the PDC-KDU Robotics Challenge 2012 held at KDU College. Students were given an hour to come up with their own robot that can move round a hexagon shaped track without knocking on the side.

21 schools from around the island of Penang came and participated in this challenge hoping to win honour for their schools. Photos showing the students paying total attention to their robot and figuring out a way to outdo their challengers from other schools.

HARI KELUARGA DAN PERJUMPAAN DENGAN IBUBAPA 2012

This morning saw the school having its annual Family Day Cum Meeting With Parents 2012. Many parents took the oppportunity to turn up in droves to check on their children's performance in their studies and also checked on their children disciplinary records.

For Form 1 parents, they were given a briefing on the PBS programme in the multimedia room. Teachers also took the chance to sell Canteen Day coupons to the parents. Photos showing the event.

TALK BY PIDM 2012

This morning saw two officers from PIDM or "Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia" giving a talk to the students on Money Smart in the multimedia room. Students were also given forms to fill to gauge their readiness for Money Smart.

INHOUSE TRAINING ON PAJSK 2012

This afternoon saw the inhouse training on the implementation of PAJSK or "Pentaksiran Aktiviti Pendidikan Jasmani,Sukan dan Ko-kurikulum" which is an assessment on P.E. and Co-curriculum. It will be carried out for Form 1 students this year with the launching to be held on the 1st of July 2012.

This morning saw the school having its 39th annual Sport Day at the USM stadium. The weather at the stadium was cool and the event went on smoothly without any untoward incident due to the co-operation of all the teachers, staff and students.

Blue House was the champion house while St John Ambulance was the champion for the march past. Congrats to all and thank you for making this year's Sport Day a success.
