UNITY CAMP 2012

Two Form 1 Bakti girl guides of the school attended a camp at the Youth park or Municipal Park from 29 March 2012 to 1 April 2012 organized by the State Education Department Co-curriculum Unit. The name of the camp is "Kem Bersepadu Pasukan Beruniform Sekolah-Sekolah menengah Pulau Pinang."

TALK BY INTEL ENGINEERS 2012

This morning saw engineers from Intel visiting the school to give a talk of Occupational Hazard, Safety and Health in conjunction with the Intel Get SETT programme. This is a programme initiated by Intel as part of their corporate responsibilty community programme.

After the talk the engineers also took the time to walk around the school premises monitoring the school's infrastructure.

DIGI LIVE SEKOLAHKU BERBAKAT 2012

This morning saw Mr. Anson of Digi dropping by the school to brief the students on this talent search programme organized by DIGI aptly called DIGI Live My School Got Talent 2012. After the talk, students who were interested gathered at the reading corner and signed up. Participation is free of charge but parental consent is needed.

This morning saw the various uniform bodies of the school having their photos taken for this year's school magazine. Students were very cooperative as the session was carried out smoothly without any hitch. They put on their uniform and looked smart and sharp.

This morning saw the taking of photos of all the classes for the school magazine. Tomorrow will be photo taking for clubs, societies and uniformed bodies. Hopefully the weather will be fine and sunny.

CARING SCHOOL AND TEACHERS

The school practises the concept of caring school and teachers for quite a while. Every morning administrators and teachers on duty will stand at the school gate at 7.15am to welcome the students to school and at the same time wishing them good morning. Signages were also put up to encourage students to come to school and also to mind their steps when going up the stairs.

Talking about caring school and teachers, it was already fostered by the school for quite a long time. Welcome to school.

ASEAN QUIZ 2012

This morning saw a specially selected group of students mostly from Consumer Club of the school taking part in this inaugural online Asean Quiz organized by the Ministry of Information, Malaysia.

This morning saw a stream of students making a beeline to the meeting room to collect their 2011 SPM results. Many students also took the time to meet their former teachers in the staffroom. To all the students who did well, congratulations. There is ample opportunity to all the students to excel further.

INTEL ROBOTICS 2012

Recently a group of girl students from the school visited thew Intel Factory where they were exposed to the world of robotics. Students learned the rudimentary skills of putting together robots and then programmed them to do specific tasks.

All in all it was a meaningful day for the students and the school wishes to thank Intel Corporation for the interest and support shown to the school. Photos showing the event.

SHILLING COLLECTION CAMPAIGN 2012

The school is heeding the request by the State Education Department in helping MAKNA to collect loose change and shilling for its activities in helping cancer patients.

The coin box or container is placed under the care of the school Co-op. Teachers and students who wish to contribute can proceed to the school's Co-op. It is also another way to attract more people to the school's Co-op.

INHOUSE TRAINING ON SAPS 2012

This afternoon saw Mr. Tan HL giving the teachers of the school an inhouse training on SAPS or "Sistem Analisis Peperiksaan Sekolah" which is a system for analysing school examinations. Teachers were given information on how to utilise the system for the benefit of all and also how to access and fill the data required.

GOLDEN BOY STRIKES AGAIN

The golden boy of the school, Jeremiah Loo made a great haul of 7 gold medals during the recent MSSPP meet, winning in many events he took part namely vaulting, parallel bars, pommel horse, floor exercise, rings, etc. The school hopes that he will continue to shine and create waves in the upcoming MSSM.

VISIT BY JPN OFFICERS 2012

This morning the school was visited by a team of officers from JPN or State Education Department of Penang. The team of about 18 strong observed the teachers doing their work and also checking through piles of files and documents of the school.
